offer those using MyDVD/DLA coming
with your Sony DVD drive . Please
note that this special offer only
applies to Sony DVD drive customers
and not for those using MyDVD/DLA
bundled with other vendors, retail
version, or updates from earlier
versions.

be used for the software mentioned above.
Please confirm the version and build
numbers of the software that you are
currently using.
To view the version and build numbers,
you can choose [About MyDVD] command
from the [Help] menu.

Note: Data
compatibility between MyDVD4 and MyDVD5
The MyDVD4
project file can not be used with MyDVD5.
Please create a new project with MyDVD5.
Also, once you used the video assets
with MyDVD4, you must remove the session
folder before you use it with MyDVD5.
The session folder will be created in
the same folder, and the "_ses"
letter is added to the filename(except
extensions).
(ex. If the filename was "file.mpg",
the session folder name should be"file_ses".)

Version-up
instructions
To version-up MyDVD/DLA:
1. Confirm
that MyDVD has been installed.
Confirm that MyDVD has been installed
in your computer before upgrading.
When MyDVD is activated, the application
must be exit. |

2. Confirm
your MyDVD serial number
Confirm your
MyDVD serial number. To view the serial
number, you can choose [Abouy MyDVD]
command from the [Help] menu.

3. How to get
the upgrade tool
You can download
the version-up tool from our Web site(free).
To download the version-up tool, you
must enter your user name and password.
When you click the [download page] button,
the authentication panel appears, as
shown below.
Enter "Sony"
for user name and your MyDVD serial
number in the password field. Please
note that all entries must be single
byte alphanumerics (Upper
and lower case sensitive, and the password
is 17 digits.).
When you click OK, the download page
appears.

Please
move on the
next after often
reading the
version information
on MyDVD.
Enter
"Sony"
for user name
and your MyDVD
serial number
in the password
field. Please
note that all
entries must
be single byte
alphanumerics
(Upper
and lower case
sensitive, and
the password
is 17 digits.).

4. Download the version-up tool.
There
are two types of archive files (one
batch and breakdown) available.
When you download the breakdown (Version-up
tool is broken down into 14 or 15
separate files), you must download
all separate files into the same directory.

5. Unzip the downloaded files
MyDVD:
When you select one batch, use the appropriate
extraction software to unzip the downloaded
file. When you select breakdown files,
you must merge them into one file.
Double click "Sony_523_VupE.part01.exe"
and follow the instructions
to merge the breakdown files.
DLA:
Double click the downloaded file and
follow the instructions to extract the
file.
6. Execute the
version-up tool
When the file
is successfully unzipped or merged,
you can see "Setup.exe"
in the archive destination folder.
Double click the "Setup.exe"
and follow the instructions.
7. Restart
Restart your
computer before using the MyDVD/DLA
software.
